For the price these earphones are just OK. They don't fit very well in the ear and fall out easily. Bass is distorted. You are much better off spending a little bit more and getting these Panasonic ones which are very comfortable and have much better sound reproduction.

The overall build quality seems robust and the enclosed speakers shields the user from some outside noise, allowing the child to listen to music at a lower volume.
The "noice-guard" or whatever the active electronic on the middle of the cord is uses a AAA battery, which leaves one additional power source to fail..
